Day 16: Gyozo!

My latest discovery in Japanese cuisine is that of the Gyozo, or their version of the dumpling. I had already fallen in love with the Chinese versions as well as the momos a really long time ago, but had never really taken to Japanese dumplings. Mainly because between the sushis, sashimis, katsu don, edamame etc. there were already too many things to choose from. So I had reserved the order for dumplings to Chinese restaurants, particularly Din Tai Fung.

All that was to change thanks to Madam's love for dumplings, which she had recently discovered at Din Tai Fungn as well.

We even have a song for it - "Pling Pling Dumpling."

But we found ourselves at Ichiban Boshi and she brought her love for dumplings over. Her exact words were, "I think we should have Pling Pling Dumplings. You think that's a good idea?"

I thought it was an excellent idea and figured out soon that I love Gyozo as much as the other Plings.

484 more to go.
